Why Prostate Cancer Patients Need More Than 10-Minute Appointments
Appointments are Short
Answers feel rushed. And everyone assumes you know what to ask.
10-15 minutes just isn't enough time to truly get informed consent.
Most doctors are only trained in the medicinal aspects of cancer.
There's very little medical training on the lifestyle aspects,
or natural complementary therapies because big Pharma doesn't benefit.
You're Carrying Stress, Fear, and Responsibility
Wondering if you're missing something important.
What lasting impact will this decision have 6 months from now, or 6 years.
Life-Impacting Decisions
Families shouldn't have to make split decisions that have life-long impacts
without clarity and support.
Asking Questions like:
What are the side effects of this treatment plan?
How likely are they to occur?
How long do they last?
Is there anything we can do to off-set our chances?
How do we recover and strengthen the body after treatment?
Getting answers like:
Well on average ...
It all depends on ...
Not all patients experience ...
Instead you should hear:
In order to strengthen your body and
get it in THE BEST Possible condition
to not only withstand treatment,
make it more effective,
but also to reduce the possibility and severity
of side effects, you should ...

What's Included in Your Prostate Cancer Coaching Session
A full intake where we discuss your current testing, diagnosis, and treatment options presented to you by your medical team.
We will review your concerns, things you've already tried, side effects to those treatments and natural ways to strengthen your body for the treatment and beyond.
Before we meet
1. I will send you an intake form to truly understand your current situation in your own words.
2. Then you'll take a health assessment (using numerical values) so that I can get a better picture of current symptoms you've been experiencing over the past 30 days.
3. You can email any documentation you'd like me to have in advance of our time together (or you can simply put the details in your intake form)
During our session
1. We will discuss your current/latest testing, your diagnosis, what treatments you've been offered or selected, and any side effects you're having
2. I want to hear your biggest concern right now so that we can create an immediate protocol to provide relief and strengthen your body.
3. Bring your actual supplements and medications to our session as we may need to reference the physical bottle.
4. If you purchase at-home functional medicine labs from me (I'll send you the details in your booking email), we will go over those and what you can expect.

Functional Medicine Labs for Prostate Cancer Support
Functional Medicine Labs for Prostate Cancer Support

1. Minerals & Metals Lab
Why Minerals & Metals Lab comes first for all my cancer clients:
When the body is under chronic stress — including the stress of cancer — minerals are often the first thing to become depleted or imbalanced.
Minerals help regulate:
- Stress response and nervous system balance
- Energy production and fatigue
- Detox pathways
- Hormone signaling and immune resilience
Blood tests show what’s circulating today.
The Minerals & Metals Lab shows how the body has been using — and losing — minerals over time.
The Minerals & Metals Lab shows how the body has been using — and losing — minerals over time.
Starting here helps us:
- Understand how stress is impacting the body
- Avoid random supplements that may not help (or could backfire)
- Create a more supportive foundation alongside medical care
This lab doesn’t diagnose disease.
It helps explain why the body may be struggling to keep up — and where support matters most.

Did you know that low levels of zinc are tied to more aggressive forms of prostate cancer?!
Zinc actually promotes the cell death of prostate cancer cells, helping to slow or prevent tumor growth.
Knowing your Zinc levels from Hair and Tissue levels is much more effective tells us its counterpart Copper, which would determine the proper Zinc supplement - there are many different types and forms, just like Magnesium (which this lab also tests)

2. Omega-3s & Inflammation Lab
Why Omega-3s & Inflammation?
Inflammation is part of the body’s natural defense system — but when it stays elevated for too long, it can quietly interfere with healing, energy, and resilience.
In prostate cancer support, reducing unnecessary inflammation and supporting cellular health matter.
Omega-3 testing helps us understand whether the body has what it needs — so support can be targeted, thoughtful, and appropriate during treatment and recovery.
Omega-3 fatty acids play a critical role in:
- Regulating inflammation
- Supporting immune balance
- Protecting cell membranes
- Supporting cardiovascular and brain health (especially important during and after treatment)
- Overall resilience during periods of physical and emotional stress
Many people assume they’re getting “enough” omega-3s — but diet alone doesn’t always tell the full story.
Absorption, balance, and individual needs can vary widely.
This lab helps us understand:
- Whether your body has adequate omega-3 levels
- How balanced your omega-6 to omega-3 ratio is (the bad vs the good)
- Whether inflammation may be placing extra stress on the body
- If supplementing with Omega-3 currently, is it in the right dosage and ratio of EPA to DHA that your body needs
Instead of guessing with supplements, this test gives us clarity — so support can be targeted, appropriate, and supportive of what your body is already navigating.
This lab doesn’t diagnose disease or treat cancer.
It helps us understand how the body is responding — and where additional support may be needed.

What’s at stake
and why guidance matters
Without guidance, many families:
- Guess which supplements or natural therapies to use
- Miss early signs of depletion or overload
- Feel reactive instead of prepared
- Carry unnecessary stress into every appointment
This session with labs will help you move from overwhelmed to equipped—so you can make clearer decisions, know what to watch for, and walk into each next step with a plan.

How is prostate cancer health coaching different from medical treatment?
While your dad's medical team focuses on treatment, I focus on supporting his body through lifestyle factors that can help minimize side effects and optimize his resilience.
By running functional medicine labs, we can determine where his body is depleted, what underlying root cause problems may be hindering his healing process, and how his adrenals are handling the stress of this journey.
Think of me as your guide for the "what else can we do?" questions.
Health coaching for prostate cancer focuses on lifestyle factors—nutrition, stress management, supplement guidance, and functional labs—that support your body before, during and after treatment. I work alongside your medical team and never replace your oncologist or physician. Think of me as your guide for optimizing your body's resilience while you receive medical care.
Is prostate cancer health coaching covered by insurance?
Short answer - no.
While my services aren't typically covered by insurance, many clients use their HSA/FSA accounts for payment or reimbursement.
Check with your specific plan to confirm health coaching services are eligible.
What if Dad isn't totally onboard?
This is common.
We will start with small, manageable changes that don't feel overwhelming.
Often, when people start feeling the benefits of these simple changes, they become more open to other suggestions.
I highly recommend that he comes with you to the appointment to ask his own questions and so he can feel heard as well.
Can health coaching help with prostate cancer side effects?
Yes! Many of my clients experience relief from treatment side effects through targeted lifestyle protocols, functional medicine labs, and personalized supplement plans. While I don't treat or cure cancer, I help strengthen your body so it can better handle treatment and recovery.
What functional medicine labs do you recommend for prostate cancer?
The two labs I most commonly recommend are the
1. Minerals & Metals Lab (to identify deficiencies impacting energy, stress response, and immune function)
2. Omega-3s & Inflammation Lab (to assess inflammation levels and cellular health).
These labs help us create targeted, personalized protocols.
I may recommend other labs based on your answers during your intake and intro session, but these two are a MUST!
Who should book a prostate cancer coaching session
This session is perfect for prostate cancer patients and their caregivers—especially wives and daughters who are helping navigate treatment decisions.
Whether you're newly diagnosed, currently in treatment, or post-treatment, health coaching can provide valuable support at any stage.
